Spent the morning checking the Internet and CNN for the latest wildfire news; am worried that a branch of the so-called Witch Fire seems headed in the direction of my neighborhood. At the same time I have the more immediate concern of severe thunderstorms! Wish I could send all this rain to Southern California (without all the thunder and lightning of course). Major Buong's Cessna O-1 Bird Dog which landed aboard USS Midway during Operation Frequent Wind (the evacuation of South Vietnam in April of 1975). Being suspended from the ceiling, it was difficult to get good close-ups of the markings. |

Midway memorabilia I found in the Cubi Bar Cafe while having lunch there. If I'm not mistaken, this is an E-2 Hawkeye prop blade for what I believe was the "Liberty Bell" airborne early warning squadron. |
